Billionaire businessman Elon Musk has warned that he will make his own “alternative phone” to the iPhone if Twitter is removed from the App Store.
Apple’s App Store policies have resulted in many apps pulled out from the store for failing to submit moderation guidelines and for hosting objectionable content. Experts worry that recent changes in Twitter under its new owner, Musk, could force the App Store to pull it out.
Musk said on Friday he will make his own smartphone if Apple or even Google remove Twitter from their app stores. He hopes “it does not come to that, but yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone”.
He didn’t go into details about the smartphone plans, but he has been known to make statements that are not to be discounted.
Musk had made statements about how he would change Twitter before officially offering to buy it for $44 billion in April. The deal was finalized on October 27. ICA/Expat Media
