Egyptian architect in Abu Dhabi wins gold bar in Big Ticket e-draw on first try

An Egyptian architect in Abu Dhabi has won a 24-karat gold bar on her first try with Big Ticket.

Ereen Attia said she bought her first Big Ticket raffle ticket on October 4 after reading one of the winners’ interviews.

“I was doing my nails, having my ‘me’ moment when I saw the interview. I checked it and thought I could win as well. So, I decided to try my luck and bought my first ticket,” Attia said.

The next day, she received a call from Big Ticket informing her that she won a 24-karat gold bar.

“I was surprised, shocked; I didn’t expect to win that fast,” Attia said. The mother of three did not say what she plans to do with her prize.

“It’s very rare to have a fair game, and Big Ticket is a fair game. My advice to everyone is to try your luck, and one day you will win,” she advised.

Throughout November, anyone who purchases tickets for the December 3 draw for Dh15 million will be automatically entered into a daily electronic draw to win a gold bar every day.

Other gold bar winners this week include Bappa Dey, a 48-year-old Bangladeshi working as a supervisor in Dubai. Dey said he will sell his gold bar and send the money to his family in Bangladesh.

Muhammed Anwar KP, an Indian man who used to work in Dubai, also won a gold bar after buying a Big Ticket raffle ticket in Kerala where he now lives.

“I am so happy, and this prize came at the right time as I am having some problems with a bank loan. I will sell the gold, share the money with my brother, and with my portion, I will pay off my loan,” Anwar said.

Another Keralite, Naveen Vengali Raveendran, also won a gold bar this week. Raveendran, a long-time Dubai resident, bought his winning ticket with the help of his brother.

“Definitely, I will sell the gold and share the money with my brother. I will use my portion to build a house in my country,” Raveendran said. ICA/Expat Media
