Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Government employees in Dubai will get their June salaries early, thanks to a directive by the Crown Prince of Dubai on Thursday (June 6).

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered that government employees in the emirate will be paid their salaries this month on June 13.

Sheikh Hamdan said the early salary payment will allow employees to meet their needs for the Eid Al Adha festival.

UAE residents are expected to get up to five days of holiday for Eid Al Adha, based on the moonsighting. If the crescent moon is spotted tonight, the first day of Eid Al Adha will be on June 16, which falls on Sunday. If the moon is not spotted, then Eid Al Adha will start on June 17, which falls on Monday, giving residents a 5-day Eid break, including the official weekend of Saturday and Sunday. ICA/Expat Media
