Nol card Dh20 minimum top-up amount takes effect

The minimum top-up amount for a Nol card in Dubai has been set at Dh20 starting on Monday (January 15).

Notices have been put up at ticketing counters at Dubai Metro stations, including the Al Rigga Metro Station, reminding commuters to “top-up your Nol card for Dh20”.

Earlier this month, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the increase in the minimum top-up amount as part of efforts to streamline public transport in the emirate.

Commuters must also have a balance of Dh15 on their Nol card for a round trip on the Dubai Metro network, according to the RTA.

Public transport users could previously top-up their Nol cards with a minimum of Dh5. Nol cards can be topped up at any RTA ticket vending machine and also through the Nol Pay app.

A Nol card is a prepaid card that is used to pay for public transport in Dubai, such as Dubai Metro, Dubai taxi, public bus, Dubai Tram and water buses. ICA/Expat Media
