Dubai Mall will have paid parking managed by Salik, the toll gate operator announced on Friday (December 22).

According to Salik, mall customers will have ticketless parking and the fee will be automatically charged using vehicle plate recognition. Fees will be deducted from the vehicle owner’s Salik account.

The paid parking service is expected to be rolled out by the third quarter of 2024. Salik said that Emaar Malls will decide on the parking fees once it finalizes its mall parking rules.

Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO and board member of Salik Company PJSC, said Dubai Mall’s switch to paid parking will not require gates or barriers.

This will be the first time that a mall in the UAE will have paid parking using vehicle plate recognition without parking tickets or parking gates.

“We are looking forward to building on the successes of this initiative to expand the offering to other locations around the city,” Al Haddad said. ICA/Expat Media
