DUBAI – An Indian man will be spending three months in jail and then deported for groping a woman inside Dragon Mart in Dubai, a Dubai court ruled on Monday (January 27).
The 33-year-old Indian man was found guilty of groping the buttocks of a 35-year-old Syrian woman in the popular Chinese mall last August.
The victim said she was buying toys with her children when the Indian man “kept staring at me in a way that scared me”.
She said that the man then stood behind her and groped her buttocks. Surveillance camera footage confirmed her claims.
During police interrogation, the man admitted to touching the Syrian woman. During Monday’s verdict, the court found the Indian man guilty of sexual abuse. ICA/Expat Media
