Dubai Creek to become world-class destination, says Sheikh Hamdan

DUBAI – The historic Dubai Creek will undergo a massive regeneration to make it into a world-class destination for tourists, residents and talents.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said the oldest neighbourhood in Dubai will be turned into a “cultural destination”.

Dubai Creek will become a “platform for young people to showcase their creative talent and start-up companies in the cultural sector to showcase their offerings”.

The Al Fahidi district of Dubai Creek is already home to museums and shops, with the Al Seef area has been turned into a creekside leisure attraction.

“We seek to turn it into a leading cultural destination that highlights our nation’s authentic architectural and urban heritage,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

He has also approved a project that will make Dubai’s walls and streets an “open art gallery”. ICA/Expat Media
