DUBAI – Live entertainment at hotels and restaurants are now cancelled after the Dubai Tourism issued a new directive.
The directive is effective Thursday (January 21) until further notice.
The move follows a directive suspending all non-essential surgery at Dubai hospitals for a month as the UAE battled to curb a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.
According to Dubai Tourism, the new rule came after field inspections revealed “an increase in [the] number of violations during entertainment activities in hotels and restaurants”.
According to Dubai Media Office, “all permits issued will be on “hold effective immediately”.
The Dubai Tourism said it has issued a notice directing “all concerned in hotel establishments and restaurants to temporarily hold entertainment activities as of Thursday, January 21, 2021, until further notice.”
“The department will continuously assess the new situation with the health authorities,” according to the Dubai Tourism. ICA/Expat Media
