New Dubai entry permit system for GCC residents

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA) has announced a new entry permit system for GCC residents, which includes expatriates.

“This service has been activated to issue a prior online entry permit for travellers residing in GCC countries, in order to ensure a smooth entry process into the UAE, and streamline procedures,” according to GDRFA.

The service is available via the GDRFA website, costs Dh250 and takes a minimum of 48 hours to process. Applicants must have a residence permit that is valid for at least one year, with no prevailing entry restrictions. Residency cards must indicate their profession.

To apply for the new entry permit, GCC residents must submit a copy of their original passport, and upon arrival in the UAE, present their original residence permit issued by a GCC country and their labour card. ICA/Expat Media
