Two Arabs have been sentenced to 7 years in jail after the Dubai Criminal Court found them guilty of possession and use of banned narcotic pills.

The Dubai court also fined the duo Dh200,000 and ordered their deportation after they serve their jail term.

The case dates back to December 2023 when one of the convicts was arrested at Dubai International Airport for bringing 1,000 banned pills in his luggage.

The Arab traveler said he was only asked to deliver the items to his compatriot living in another emirate.

Dubai Police then asked the traveler to contact the person to receive the pills in the Naif area. Police arrested the second Arab as soon as he received the banned pills.

Police also searched his residence and found 230 narcotic pills. He admitted to owning the banned substances. ICA/Expat Media
