DUBAI – Inmates in Dubai behind bars over unpaid loans will have their debts paid off after a foundation in the UAE donated Dh500,000 to Dubai Police.
The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation handed its donation to Dubai Police’s General Directorate of Correctional and Penal institutions.
The foundation said it hopes its financial aid will help needy inmates and reunite them with their families.
In the UAE, banks have the option to file a criminal case or a civil case against loan defaulters. ICA/Expat Media
