Filipino among 3 to recover from coronavirus in UAE


DUBAI – Another Filipino was among three people who recently recovered from coronavirus in the UAE, according a Ministry of Health spokeswoman on Monday (March 30).

Dr. Farida Al Hosani did not give further details about the Filipino’s identity. She also said that two more Indian citizens recovered from the virus, bringing the UAE’s total number of recoveries to 61.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health announced that the UAE had a total of 58 recoveries after a Filipino and two Indians recovered from the virus. The total number of coronavirus cases in the UAE stood at 570 on Sunday after authorities announced 102 new cases.

On Monday, the number of cases rose to 611 after the ministry spokeswoman confirmed that the UAE had 41 additional cases of the coronavirus. The ministry said that more than 220,000 laboratory tests have been conducted for Covid-19.

Two more patients died on Monday, including a 48-year-old Arab man who had underlying health issues, and a 42-year-old Asian man with a heart condition. A 47-year-old Arab woman died of coronavirus on Sunday. ICA/Expat Media
