DUBAI – The UAE on Saturday (May 23) announced 812 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s total number of cases to 28,704.
There are now 13,965 active cases of coronavirus in the country.
According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention, 697 more people recovered from the virus on Saturday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 14,495.
The authority also announced the death of 3 people due to Covid-19, bringing the death toll to 244.
Meanwhile, the UAE government urged the public to observe precautionary measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The call was reiterated again on Saturday as the country geared up to mark the first day of Eid Al Adha on Sunday.
Authorities said that Eid prayer will be performed at home as mosques in the country remained closed to curb the spread of Covid-19.
