DUBAI – A body that has been floating in the sea off the coast of Dubai for more than 30 days tested positive for Covid-19, Dubai Police revealed.
Police said the person drowned and the body was only recovered after more than 30 days. However, forensic doctors who examined the body found that it tested positive for Covid-19.
In another case, a body that has been kept in the mortuary for 17 days also tested positive for Covid-19, according to Dubai Police.
The latest discoveries goes contrary to existing research that most viruses die with the death of the human host, Major Dr. Ahmed Al Hashemi of Dubai Police told Al Bayan newspaper.
