Abu Dhabi: Woman sues driver after he attempts to hit her car

A young woman sued a driver after he tried to attack her on a public road.

She said the man followed her car and tried to hit her for no reason, putting her life at risk.

In her lawsuit, the woman said that the man started following her when she was driving on the road in Abu Dhabi.

She said he veered his car toward hers in a way that could have put her life in danger.

The complainant said that the incident scared her and that the defendant almost caused an accident when he tried to hit her with his car.

She asked the man to pay her Dh60,000 to compensate for the emotional and physical harm he had caused her.

The woman said the criminal court had earlier convicted the man and that he was penalized for trying to attack her. She also presented the court documents in the last court ruling.

After the man was found guilty in criminal court, the woman sued him in civil court, asking for monetary damages.

When he went to court, the man said he never tried to hurt the woman and asked the judge to throw out the case.

Based on the evidence in the criminal court, the Al Ain Civil Court of First Instance told the man to pay the woman Dh15,000 to make up for the damage.

The motorist was also ordered to pay for the woman’s legal expenses. BKM/ Expat Media
