70% of companies in the UAE plan to hire new employees next year

According to a survey released by job portal Bayt and market research agency YouGov, over 70% of UAE businesses plan to expand their workforce in the coming year.

The survey indicated that 50 percent of the companies that plan to hire in the next three months would hire for a maximum of five jobs, while 25 percent will hire about six to 10 workers.

According to the report, UAE companies will hire sales executives, accountants, and administrative assistants in the next three months.

The study, which took place online from June 9 to August 1, 2022, included responses from key markets in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Sudan.

New developments and foreign investments have boosted the economy and private sectors in the UAE, leading to a rapid job market expansion since the epidemic.

URB’s recently unveiled project, Dubai Urban Tech District, will generate an estimated 4,00 new jobs in the country.

51% of UAE employers surveyed by Bayt said they would prioritize individuals with strong Arabic and English communication skills, followed by those who are adept at working in teams, have strong leadership qualities, and can handle stress well.

Twenty-eight percent of respondents are seeking people with managerial experience, twenty-seven percent are looking for those with sales and marketing experience, and twenty-nine percent are seeking applicants with intermediate experience.

“A large majority of Mena employers are looking to expand their workforce through a human-led approach. While professionals need to focus on honing skills in demand such as communication and collaboration, companies need to provide access routes for those who lack skills, take steps to strengthen the capabilities of skilled employees, and commit to constant upskilling,” said Ola Haddad, director of human resources at BKM/ Expat Media
