DUBAI – Abu Dhabi will be ushering in the new year 2019 with a world record attempt for a different kind of fireworks display.
The emirate will rewrite history, quite literally, with the largest sentence created in pyrotechnics lighting up the skies on New Year’s Eve.
The fireworks display will spell out “Happy New Year 2019” over the skies in a 10-minute light show at the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
“We are delighted to bring such a variety of exciting events across the whole emirate of Abu Dhabi to usher in the New Year,” said Saif Saeed Ghobash, of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
“We are confident that visitors will have an unforgettable experience that will mark the start of a happy and prosperous 2019 for all,” Ghobash said.
A host of venues in Abu Dhabi will be ushering in 2019 with various shows and concerts.
A fireworks show, and 3D water and light shows will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, which will also host concerts by Eida Al Menhali and Fouad Abdel Wahid.
Al Dhafra Festival will also be hosting a special New Year’s Eve concerts by Arab celebrities.
