DUBAI – After 10 years on the run, French drug lord Moufide Bouchibi has been captured in Dubai after arriving recently in the emirate.
Dubai Police received an alert from Interpol on Bouchibi’s arrival to Dubai.
The drug lord, known as “the ghost”, had used fake identification to land in the emirate. Here’s how the arrest unfolded:

“He entered the country under a false identity shortly after we received the Interpol’s Red Notice,” said Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police.
“He was hiding under several names as if he did not exist at all, which posed a great challenge to our detectives,” Al Jallaf said.
Police were able to track Bouchibi and arrest him last week. The Frenchman is wanted for drug trafficking and drug smuggling across Europe.
According to Dubai Police, Bouchibi will be referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action. ICA/Expat Media
