Vhong Navarro allowed to post P1 million bail after court finds inconsistencies with Cornejo’s statements

A Taguig court has granted comedian-host Vhong Navarro’s bail petition, allowing him to post bail at P1 million in the rape case filed by model Deniece Cornejo.

After the bail hearings, Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 found inconsistencies in the evidence and statements of the complainant.

“[T]his Court is not convinced at this point, that there exists a presumption great leading to the inference of the accused’s guilt,” Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan said.

Taguig court granted Navarro’s bail application, saying the complainant’s credibility is the most crucial factor in rape cases.

The court found Cornejo’s affidavit errors too substantial to disregard. BKM/ Expat Media
