KIEV – Ukranian fitness influencer Dmitriy Stuzhuk has died from Covid-19 after calling the virus a hoax. He was 33.
Stuzhuk contracted coronavirus during a trip to Turkey. He was hospitalized when he returned to Ukraine and woke up with a swollen neck and breathing difficulties.
His ex-wife, Sofia, said he died from heart complications within hours after he was rushed back to the hospital after spending eight days there.
Stuzhuk previously told his more than 1 million followers on Instagram that “Covid does not exist”.
After being taken to the hospital, he posted a photograph of himself wearing an oxygen mask, captioning it with the message: “I want to share how I got sick and to strongly warn everyone. I was one who thought that Covid does not exist … until I got sick. Covid-19 is not a short-lived disease! And it is heavy.”
Stuzhuk leaves behind three children, the youngest of which is nine months old. ICA/Expat Media
