UAE leaders congratulate Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on leaving hospital


DUBAI – UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a message of congratulations to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz after he was discharged from hospital.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also sent a similar message.

King Salman, 86, was discharged from King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah on Sunday following successful medical tests, according to the royal court. Saudi TV ran a video clip showing the monarch walking slowly using a cane as he left the hospital where he was admitted on the evening of May 7. Watch it below:

King Salman had undergone a colonoscopy procedure. According to the royal court, the results were fine. The Saudi King stayed at the hospital during his recovery period.

He underwent bladder surgery in 2020 and had the battery of his heart pacemaker replaced in March.

King Salman, who is the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, became ruler of Saudi Arabia in 2015 after spending more than two years as the crown prince and deputy premier. ICA/Expat Media
