UAE companies receive warning after cutting salaries of Emirati job candidates

A UAE minister warned companies against wrongfully taking advantage of the government’s Emirati salary support program.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, stated that certain companies are lowering Emirati job-seekers salaries.

Some companies are reportedly promising Emirati applicants that the UAE Government’s Nafis program will provide them pay top-ups when employed.

Al Awar emphasized that the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) will properly address such abuse.

“We reiterate that the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) will be firm in implementing the necessary procedures with any company that attempts to abuse Emiratisation-related policies and decisions, including Nafis’ benefits,” he added. BKM/ Expat Media
