DUBAI – After 3,500 entries from 120 countries and 44,000 votes, South African Jameel Haffejje has won a dream holiday at the island resort of Kandima Maldives for a year.
Haffejje, who bested 15 finalists to take the dream prize, plans to take his family and friends along to the stylish island resort during his 365-day stay there.
As part of the contest, finalists were asked to submit a one-minute video on how they imagine their 365 days at Kandima Maldives.
Haffejje was chosen as the winner of best video, which begins with a conversation between a couple on how much they need a holiday.
The scene then moves on to show Haffejje and his partner’s personal travel experiences in a dream-like sequence.
At the end of the clip, the couple wakes up to a phone ringing; we assume it rings to tell them the news that he has been selected as the winner.
In reality, voters from the GCC region and the world over cast their votes and the life-changing decision was made. Watch Haffejje’s video entry:
“I’m so thrilled to know that I’ve been chosen as the lucky winner, thanks to Kandima and all the voters who supported me! When my wife and I saw the announcement on Kandima’s Instagram page, we were in total disbelief. As we jumped around the room in excitement, we shared the incredible news with our family, and everyone here has been so overjoyed for us!”
He continued: “Last year, on my honeymoon in the Maldives, I told my wife that – ‘one day I’m going to live here’… Dreams do come true! What an amazing journey it has been from start to finish.”
Haffejje can choose to stay at Kandima Maldives for 365 days in one go or visit as many times as he wants during the one-year timeframe.
At Kandima Maldives, he can enjoy stunning sunrises, delightful dining experiences, mesmerizing Maldivian sunsets, kilometres of sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, oh-so-stylish selfies, refreshing snorkeling sessions, creative yoga and wellness workshops, soul stirring music beats or simply relaxing beach walks.
Haffejjee and his wife have received a full board stay at the gorgeous Kandima Sky Studio and complimentary unlimited round-trip domestic flight transfers to the resort with Manta Air.
He also gets exclusive resort vouchers and many experiences to enjoy during the entire duration of his stay. ICA/Expat Media
