DUBAI – With the cool weather upon us, we headed to artesian café, The Sum of Us, to check out its newly opened al fresco dining terrace.
It was a fairly busy Friday brunch when the Expatmedia.net team visited the restaurant in Burj Al Salam, off Sheikh Zayed Road.
We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who led us inside the cozy café. Naturally, we asked for a table at the newly installed terrace.
Everything checked the box—from the friendly service down to the beautifully presented dishes. Even our fellow diners—a mix of Asians, Europeans and Arabs—were a joy to share the brunch ambiance with.
The food was also a delight. We recommend the seared tuna and kimchi salad, which tasted as beautiful as it looked. It was pure art on plate bursting with wonderful flavors of the kimchi salad, balanced by the freshness of the cuts of seared tuna.
We also loved the barbecued lamb, which was deliciously smokey and tender, and ended our brunch with the sinfully sweet choc hazelnut babka dessert, its vanilla ice cream balancing all the sweetness in the bowl.
To sum it up, The Sum of Us and its new terrace is definitely the breath of fresh that is just what we need for this winter weather. ICA/Expat Media
