Classy Missy expands in Dubai with new shop for ultra-luxury pre-loved fashion

You can be a “Classy Missy” without breaking the bank. Just ask Joy Daquis, the trendsetting owner of Classy Missy luxury pre-loved shop in Dubai.

A long-time Dubai resident, Joy is considered one of the pioneers in the business of pre-loved fashion in the UAE, having started with online selling and later opening a boutique in Wafi City mall as she captured her niche market. She recently opened another luxury showroom in Dubai’s Business Village. “You can find ultra-premium brands here, such as Hermes and exotic or collectible pieces from Dior and Louis Vuitton,” Joy tells Expatmedia.net.

Her new boutique stocks a mix of brand new as well as pre-loved luxury fashion items, mostly bags. We spot some men’s sandals from Hermes, and some unique pieces from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Dior and Gucci, among others.

“I wanted to bring luxury to a lot of people, to make it affordable,” Joy says. Consignors are welcome to work with her to sell their items. “We authenticate all the items we sell, and we also give a fair valuation of each item,” she adds. Classy Missy is a member of Entrupy, which certifies the authenticity of luxury products.

The Filipina says she loves the trend of pre-loved luxury, calling it sustainable and cost-effective: one person’s closet purge could be someone else’s new fashion. She advices buying vintage pre-loved luxury items as a wise investment. “You are buying something affordable with the luxury brand you like,” she says.

Her top tips to buying pre-loved luxury items? “Always check the authenticity of the product, or buy from a trusted seller like us. Getting pieces that retain their value are always a good buy. You buy them today, and the prices will still go up tomorrow,” she says.
