Pope Francis may be in Dubai in November to attend the COP28 climate conference, Vatican sources said.
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin told Reuters that Pope Francis wants to go to Dubai to attend the climate change conference, although there is yet no final decision.
It would be the first time that a pope would attend the UN climate change conference since it began in 1995. In Dubai, the COP28 will run from November 30 to December 12.
Pope Francis is a staunch advocate of environmental protection. The 86-year-old pope released a document earlier in October saying that world leaders must act because the planet “may be nearing the breaking point”. ICA/Expat Media
