The Philippines’ Department of Justice (DOJ) clarified on Friday (January 26) that two members of Pia Wurtzbach’s entourage who were offloaded from a Dubai-bound flight were not prevented from leaving the country.
Justin Soriano and Jeck Aguilar, members of the “glam team” for the Miss Universe 2015, were offloaded from their flight to Dubai on January 22 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano said on Friday that the Bureau of Immigration did not issue a hold departure order or lookout bulletin order against the makeup artists.
“Upon confirmation with the Bureau of Immigration, it was found that there was no derogatory record. There was not a single record at immigration,” Clavano said in Filipino.
The DOJ spokesperson said that reports reaching the DOJ said the issue emanated from Dubai authorities. “Reports reaching us was that the problem was on the Dubai side and it was the airline that offloaded them,” Clavano said, adding that Soriano and Aguilar were also advised to report to the UAE Embassy.
Aguilar and Soriano formerly worked for actress Heart Evangelista as part of her glam team. Last year, they had a falling out with the star, who unfollowed them on Instagram.
The duo later joined the glam team of Miss Universe 2015 Wurtzbach, who has made Dubai her second home after getting married to long-time boyfriend Jeremy Jauncey last year. ICA/Expat Media
