Philippines: DMW works with Saudi government to assist OFWs in claiming back wages

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reassured Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) claiming back wages that the agency is working closely with their counterparts in Saudi Arabia.

DMW Secretary Susan “Toots” Ople published the statement after some OFW families expressed worries about the restrictions for claiming back wages.

Around 10,000 OFWs lost their jobs in Saudi Arabia after oil prices dropped in 2014.

The registration and processing of claims back wages are ongoing following Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s commitment to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in November. BKM/ Expat Media
