The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will launch a new LEGO-themed exhibition on August 21, inviting visitors to explore 13.8 billion years of natural history through building, play and interactive activities.
Described as a world-first experience, the exhibition will feature collaborative LEGO builds across themed zones inspired by Earth’s history, wildlife and the cosmos.
Visitors will be able to build and experiment while exploring scientific concepts, with activities designed for children, families and LEGO enthusiasts. The experience will also include trails and workshops, with further details expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Dr. Peter C. Kjærgaard, Director of Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, said play can support learning and discovery by encouraging curiosity, imagination and creativity.
“Play is fundamental to learning and discovery. It sparks curiosity, fuels imagination, and nurtures creativity – the very qualities that drive scientific exploration,” he said. “Through our collaboration with LEGO SHOWS Natural Brickstory, we are putting play, creativity, and imagination at the heart of the visitor experience. We are building a strong foundation for the next generation of scientists and stewards of our natural world.”
Alia AlHammadi, Acting Partnership and Commercial Department Director at Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, said the collaboration would offer visitors a different way to engage with the museum.
Natural Brickstory will be open daily from August 21 for a limited period. The museum said weekday opening hours will be from 10am to 6:30pm, while weekend hours will be extended until 8:30pm.
Tickets and further information are available through the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi website.
