DUBAI – Michael Learns To Rock were greeted with a limousine ride on their arrival in Dubai just shortly before midnight on Sunday (November 28).
The Danish band—popularly referred to as MLTR by fans—comprises of Mikkel Lentz, Jascha Richter and Kåre Wanscher. They were met the airport by the founders of Creative Minds Events Organizing, the organizer of the band’s concert in Dubai.
On December 2, MLTR will be performing alongside Boyce Avenue and Emirati pop singer Alira for the UAE Golden Year Music Festival at Dubai Festival Arena. Watch MLTR arrive in Dubai:
The MLTR trio landed in Dubai on an Emirates flight from Copenhagen in Denmark. Shortly after arrival at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3, Kåre took off his jacket as the warm Dubai weather started to hit.
It was a stark contrast from the weather in Denmark, he said. “It was raining. Cold. Weather was freezing and windy,” Kare told Expatmedia.net before they got into the waiting limousine that would take them to their hotel in Dubai.
Kåre, the drummer of the multi-platinum record band, said they can’t wait to perform in Dubai. They recently released a single called Children of Tomorrow (Utopia).
MLTR was formed in 1988 and has since released various hit songs, including 25 Minutes, Sleeping Child and The Actor. They first performed in the UAE in 2013 at the Dubai Tennis Stadium.
Mikkel called it a “great show…thanks to a wonderful audience”.
What can their fans in the UAE expect this time? Jascha said the band is “super excited” to be performing on an international stage again as they have not travelled anywhere outside of Denmark for almost two years since the pandemic broke out.
This time around, MLTR said they will be bringing a “more visual and entertaining” show with all of their hit songs to celebrate the 50th UAE National Day.
Michael Learns To Rock and American cover band Boyce Avenue will be performing at the UAE Golden Year Music Festival at Dubai Festival Arena on December 2. They will be supported by UAE singer Alira. Tickets are available on Platinumlist and Virgin Megastores. Get them here . ICA/Expat Media
