DUBAI – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Sunday (July 28) warned social media users against an ad for an online lending company where her photo was used illegally.
Duterte said her photo was used without her permission to “apparently deceive the public into believing that I am an endorser of their service”.
In a statement, the mayor said she is not associated with PesosPh or other online lending companies that offer “fast cash loans with exorbitant fees and interest”.
She advised the public to be wary when dealing with individuals, groups or companies that use her name in their business, and urged the public to report fraudulent businesses to the police or the National Bureau of Investigation. ICA/Expat Media
