Man found dead in Ajman, suspect arrested

AJMAN – Police have arrested a 37-year-old African man suspected of killing a 30-year-old African man in Ajman.

The victim’s decomposing body was found in a house near an industrial area in the emirate. The body bore a stab wound.

Police were alerted after a resident complained of a stench coming from the house. Responding policemen then found the body.

Investigators identified the victim only by the initials D.M.I. and said that he was killed using a sharp tool.

Major Ahmad Saeed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, said that a team of investigators then started interrogating a few residents.

Police first arrested an African man who admitted during interrogation that he had a dispute with the 37-year-old suspect over work matters, and that the victim had stepped in to stop their argument.

He said that this angered the 37-year-old suspect, who stabbed the victim and then fled.

Police launched a manhunt and were later able to arrest the suspect who confessed to the crime.

The case has been transferred to the public prosecution and a trial is expected.
