GROŹNY – A major street in the southern Russian republic of Chechnya has been named after Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Chechnya President Ramzan Kadyrov inaugurated the street in the Chechen capital, Grozny, on Tuesday (April 6).
Kadyrov said the street was named after Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed in recognition of his efforts to boost the ties between the two countries.
The Chechnya leader said it was also a token of gratitude for the development projects launched by the UAE to assist the Chechen people during the coronavirus pandemic.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Russia. Grozny’s streets were decorated with Emirati, Russian and Chechen flags for the event. ICA/WAM/Expat Media
