Lindsay Lohan gives peek of her baby bump

Lindsay Lohan is expecting her first child and couldn’t be more excited for her growing family with Dubai-based husband Bader Shammas.

The pregnant star, wearing a maternity-style knit maxi dress, snapped a fun mirror selfie on Tuesday (April 25) during her New York trip. She stayed at The New York Edition, a luxury hotel she called her “home away from home” in an Instagram post.

New York is where her family members as well as her childhood friends live as she grew up on Long Island.

Lohan has lived in the UAE since 2014. The actress has offered up some insight into her life in Dubai, from cooking Middle Eastern food to her early 9:30pm bedtime. “I cook a lot,” she says. “I do a lot of an Arabic dish called machboos. It’s chicken with rice and vegetables … I also go to bed really early – 9.30pm.”

Life in Dubai is simply quieter for the Mean Girls star, who is married to Kuwaiti financier and Dubai resident Shammas. In her podcast, The Lohdown with Lindsay Lohan, Lindsay said she loves Middle Eastern dishes cooked by her husband’s family. “When his mother makes certain foods, those are my happy place foods,” she says. “They are just so authentic and comforting.”

Lindsay moved to Dubai in 2014 after first visiting in 2008 for the opening of Atlantis, The Palm. “It took me moving there [to Dubai] to really appreciate the time that I take for myself, instead of just going, going, going,” she says.

Since moving to Dubai, Lindsay says she’s calmer than she was when she lived in the US and London. “There are no cameras in Dubai and I can actually focus on what I want to do in life,” she says. “I don’t always have to be scrutinised every second. I can have a private life and have a public life, but when I choose to.” ICA/Expat Media
