ICA approval still needed for UAE residents arriving in Dubai

DUBAI – UAE residents with visas issued in other emirates but are arriving in Dubai will still need approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), according to a Dubai Airports spokesperson.

“According to new travel requirements, travelers holding residence visas issued in other emirates need approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship to return to the country,” the spokesperson said.

Dubai residence visa holders arriving at Dubai Airport will still need approval from the
General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) to return to the UAE.

Airport officials on Wednesday (October 7) confirmed that some passengers experience “delay in the arrival process at Dubai International Airport” on Wednesday afternoon due to an “update in travel regulations in line with the directives of UAE authorities.” ICA/Expat Media
