Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi will add three Harry Potter-themed lands targeted for completion in 2029.
Harry Potter fans in the UAE have a major new attraction to look forward to, with three themed lands inspired by the Wizarding World set to transform Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Miral, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, announced on Monday (September 7) that the expansion will introduce Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest to the Yas Island theme park.
Together, the three areas will cover approximately 63,000 square metres, with construction targeted for completion in 2029.
The development will include Harry Potter-themed rides created exclusively for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, although further details about the attractions have yet to be released. The official Warner Bros.
World website currently confirms that the three lands are planned for Yas Island but says more details will be announced at a later stage.
The announcement builds on Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery’s longstanding partnership, which previously brought the region’s first Harry Potter-themed land to the park’s expansion plans. The original Harry Potter announcement was made in 2022.
Three worlds of the Wizarding World
The new development will bring three of the most recognisable settings from the Harry Potter universe to Abu Dhabi.
Diagon Alley is the magical shopping district where young witches and wizards visit shops such as Ollivanders and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.
Hogwarts will bring the iconic wizarding school into the theme park experience, while the Forbidden Forest will offer a very different environment inspired by the mysterious woodland surrounding Hogwarts.
“The introduction of the three new Harry Potter–themed lands represents a significant milestone in the continued evolution of Yas Island and the emirate of Abu Dhabi,” said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral. Exactly how the three lands will be connected and what rides, dining experiences and other attractions they will contain has not yet been disclosed.
Al Mubarak said the project reflects Miral’s partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences while supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism and economic diversification ambitions.
Simon Robinson, President of Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the project would deepen the relationship between the company’s franchises and audiences. He added that the project reflects the company’s long-term vision for immersive entertainment experiences
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently features six themed lands, including Metropolis, Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros. Plaza. The park is marketed as the world’s largest indoor theme park.
The Harry Potter development is part of a much larger expansion of the park. Two new DC-themed attractions are also being added: Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away.
Kryptonite Collider opened as part of the 2026 expansion, while Superman Up and Away is a next-generation flying roller coaster targeted for completion in 2028.
Once the planned additions are completed, the overall expansion is expected to increase Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s footprint by more than 50 per cent, adding approximately 70,000 square metres of theme park space. ICA/Expat Media
