PARIS – Police arrested a man who intentionally drove his car into a pizzeria in the Paris suburb of Sept-Sorts on Monday night, killing a girl and injuring 12 others.
Four of those injured, including another girl, are in serious condition.
The Paris Prosecutor’s Office said there was no indication that the incident was terror-related. Sept-Sorts is located 55 kilometers east of the French capital.
The Meaux City prosecutor’s office is determining the motive of the driver who was alone in his car.
French President Emmanel Macron and the prime minister sent their condolences to the family of the girl who died and to those injured and their kin, according to a statement from Interior Minister Gerard Collomb.
The statement also said that the “witnesses, shocked, are being assisted by a psychological and medical emergency unit.” GAC/Expat Media
