DUBAI – Billboards on wheels? This is what Dubai taxis will look like in the future, with digital ads flashing on taxi windows.
The high-tech innovation will be showcased at Gitex Technology Week, which starts on Sunday (October 6), said Mattar Al Tayer, director-general of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
“RTA attaches considerable attention to digitisation and the introduction of smart and innovative services, considering it a key pillar of technological advancement,” Al Tayer said.
According to the RTA, the technology will be tested at Gitex and then rolled out in high definition format. The RTA, however, did not reveal the launch date.
Gitex will run from October 6 to 10 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year’s expo features more than 4,500 exhibitors from 140 countries. ICA/Expat Media
