After meeting all international and local regulations and standards, Fujairah Airport obtains its operating license for a new runway from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
The new runway supports Fujairah Airport’s strategic goal of improving and maintaining operations to the highest international standards, according to Director-General Ismail Al Baloushi.
The project is underway and is set to increase its capacity to accept more aircraft.
He stated that the new runway is 3,050 meters long and 45 meters wide and meets ICAO and GCAA standards.
Sheikh Hamad Bin Saleh Al Sharqi inaugurated the runway, the first pilot to use it.
The airport’s extension and development plan will boost the UAE’s civil aviation status by operating the new runway. BKM/ Expat Media
