First Big Brands store opens in Dubai, what Mubarak Rashed Al Azmi plans to spend Dh1,000 on

DUBAI – If you’re a fan of the big sale by Concept Big Brands Carnival (CBBC) at Dubai World Trade Centre, you don’t have to wait for the next season to do your bargain shopping.

This is because the first CBBC brick and mortar store has officially opened in Dubai. Its permanent home is located on Level 1 of Times Square Centre.

Vijay Samyani, Chairman of Concept Brands Group, told he opened the flagship store in time for Expo 2020 Dubai.

“We wanted to give a discount to all the people who are coming from across the globe and when they come here in Dubai they should find something very attractive in one place,” Samyani told

CBBC is popular for its seasonal sale at the Dubai World Trade Centre, but top executives explored a permanent store concept with a smaller space at Times Square Centre.

“We started with them in a smaller unit. They were extremely successful, and mall visitors really like their presence at the mall. Afterwards, we gave them a bigger location, which is what you see over here,” Nancy Ozbek, General Manager of Times Square Centre, told at the launch.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti singing sensation Mubarak Rashed Al Azmi was a special guest at the launch. “Every time I come with my family here [in Dubai], we go shopping,” Al Azmi told

When asked by what he would buy if he were given Dh1,000 to spend at the store, the popular Kuwaiti singer grinned and caught his breath.

“Actually I will buy.. I love perfumes and watch, shoes. Whatever. Because CBBC they have discount, so I will buy everything with Dh1,000. No problem, I will take everything,” he said with a chuckle.
