Filipino in Dubai accuses Alma Moreno of fraud in condo rent case
DUBAI – A Dubai-based Filipino has accused actress Alma Moreno of not paying rent for her condominium unit in the Philippines and also leaving an unpaid electricity bill of P40,000 (Dh3,080).
Theresa Grenard appeared on Raffy Tulfo in Action online programme on Thursday (June 3) to call out the actress, who allegedly refused to take her calls to clarify the matter.
Raffy Tulfo’s staff said that when contacted for comment, Moreno denied Grenard’s accusation. “Alam ng Diyos na wala akong ginagawang masama (God knows I am not doing anything wrong),” Moreno was quoted as saying. Watch the video below:
In her complaint, Grenard said Moreno rented out her condominium unit in Azure Urban Resort Residences in Parañaque for one month from August 2020, but only left the premises in February 2021.
Grenard said that Moreno had asked to rent her condominium unit from August 25 to September 25, 2020 and that she agreed since her brother works for the actress.
The Filipina said that Moreno paid P35,000 as rent for the first month, however, the actress or her staff could no longer be contacted for updates in the months that passed.
Grenard said it was obvious that the actress was still living in the condominium unit past the agreed rental period as the electricity bill went up to P40,000. She also said Moreno left her condominium unit without telling her and without cleaning it, attracting cockroaches.
As of March 9, utility services to the unit were cut off due to the unpaid bill, she said.
The Filipina, who has since returned to Dubai, said she is no longer expecting Moreno to pay for the five months’ rent she owed, but that the actress should at least clear the electricity bill.
Raffy Tulfo has reached out to Moreno for a statement, however, the actress reportedly refused to comment publicly on the matter. ICA/Expat Media
