Elon Musk and singer Grimes have three children, not two, according to a new biography about the tech billionaire.
The New York Times noted in a September 9 review of Walter Isaacson’s book Elon Musk, set to be released on September 12, that Musk and Grimes at one point welcomed a child named Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed Tau.
The couple is known for their penchant for unusual names. Musk and Grimes are parents to 3-year-old son X Æ A-12 (pronounced “Ex Ash’), and 2-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, who they’ve nicknamed Y.
Musk, 52, and Grimes, 35, welcomed their daughter Y via surrogate. They have dated on and off since 2018 and are living in separate houses.
Grimes had revealed in a 2022 Vanity Fair interview that she and Musk have “always wanted at least three or four” children. She also declared in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that Musk is her “best friend and the love of my life.”
Musk also has 1-year-old twins Strider and Azure with Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink, one of the companies he co-founded.
Before starting a family with Grimes and Zilis, Musk previously welcomed six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson Musk: Their eldest, Nevada, died at 10 weeks old; 18-year-old twins Vivian Jenna and Griffin, and 17-year-old triplets Kai, Damian and Sax. ICA/Expat Media
