Dubai: Salik announces Dh562 million revenue in 3 months

Dubai’s Salik toll gates have made Dh562 million in revenue from January to March this year, toll gate operator Salik Company PJSC announced on Monday (May 13).

According to Salik, the total revenue for the first quarter includes toll fee usage revenue of Dh481 million, as well as Dh59 million revenues from fines. Tag activation fees made a revenue of Dh10 million.

According to Salik, 122.8 million cars passed through its eight toll gates in the first quarter of this year. The Al Maktoum Bridge toll gate saw trips increase by 49 percent after the Floating Bridge was closed for development.

Traffic through the Jebel Ali toll gate grew by 12 percent in the first quarter, while the Al Garhoud Bridge saw trips increase by 9.1 percent. Dubai currently has eight active toll gates.

“We continue to thrive in our core tolling business and remain focused on diversifying our portfolio through the expansion of ancillary revenue streams,” said Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO of Salik.

Meanwhile, two new Dubai toll gates are expected to be operational by the end of November: Business Bay Crossing and Al Safa South.

A paid parking system at Dubai Mall, which Salik will operate, is also expected to launch in the third quarter of this year. ICA/Expat Media
