Ajman: Egyptian man finds Dh149,000 in ATM, hands it to police

An Egyptian man has been awarded by Ajman Police after he returned Dh149,000 in cash that he found at an automated teller machine (ATM) in Ajman.

According to police, Abdel Fattah Mahmoud Abdel Fattah was visiting the ATM when he found the money. He immediately went to the police station to hand over the cash.

Police honoured Abdel Fatttah for his honesty on Thursday (May 23), and also gave him a certificate of appreciation for his keenness in returning the money to its rightful owner.

The Egyptian said returning the money was his “national and moral duty towards members of society”. ICA/Expat Media
