Abu Dhabi opens renovated fish market in Mina Zayed

A newly renovated fish market has opened in Abu Dhabi’s port area at Mina Zayed, the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) announced.

The new fish market is part of a major redevelopment of Abu Dhabi’s historic port area, which has served as the main port in the UAE capital for more than 40 years.

There are 44 fish cleaning stations and commercial stations in the new fish market, along with 104 fresh fish stalls and eight dry fish stalls. The market also has four fruit and vegetable stalls, three commercial kiosks, eight restaurants and a supermarket.

The redevelopment of Mina Zayed is being undertaken by DMT and Modon Properties. Plans include major renovation of souks in the area and the construction of a new fruit and vegetable market, as well as a market for plants and seasonal items. ICA/Expat Media
