4 passengers now allowed in Dubai taxi vans

DUBAI – Four passengers will now be allowed to travel in taxi vans in Dubai as the emirate further eased Covid-19 measures, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Previously, only two passengers were allowed per taxi in Dubai.

According to RTA, the new rule allowing up to four people to travel in a taxi is only applicable in Hala taxi vans, and will start from Thursday (September 10).

Hala vans have two rows of seating, which allows social distancing among passengers.

Passengers can book the Hala van using the Careem app. Hala is the joint venture between the RTA and Careem. The price for the van service is the same as the price for regular taxi service. ICA/Expat Media
