UAE weather: more rain forecast this week

DUBAI – The UAE’s weather bureau on Sunday (March 24) forecast more rainfall in the country this week, a day after rain and hail lashed parts of the emirates.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said the weather on Sunday will be “dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some areas, with a probability of some rainfall”.

On Saturday, hail fell on Jebel Jais, the highest mountain in the UAE, while scattered rainfall was felt in parts of Dubai and the rest of the UAE.

On Sunday, strong winds are expected to stir up haze that will result in “reduced horizontal visibility”, according to the weather bureau.

The NCM also warned that the sea will be “rough to very rough by night” in the Arabian Gulf, and moderately rough at times in the Oman Sea.
