UAE National Day car decoration rules: What is allowed
DUBAI – Police have issued guidelines for motorists who wish to decorate their cars for UAE National Day on December 2, vowing increased presence on the roads during the event.
According to the Abu Dhabi Police, motorists will be allowed to put UAE-inspired decorations on their vehicles from November 25 to December 6.
The decorations must not obstruct the view of the driver or endanger others in any way. Decals and motifs can only be added to the side of the car.
Decorations must not change the overall colour of the vehicle. Noisy accessories and decorations that cover licence plates and windscreens are also not allowed.
According to the Abu Dhabi Police, motorists are not allowed to obstruct traffic on National Day, or make a lot of noise on the streets. Reckless drivers will be fined Dh2,000.
Passengers are also not allowed to stick out any part of their body from car windows or sunroof.
