DUBAI – Who would have thought that a street cleaner at Jumeirah Lake Towers community is actually a multi-millionaire Emirati businessman?
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, the executive chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, surprised JLT residents when he posted on Instagram his undercover work in the area recently.
Bin Sulayem made a surprise visit to JLT parks to join the Concordia team in cleaning the community.
On his Instagram page, the businessman called out the Red Diamond Building management for litter in the area.
“We can’t afford any fire accidents from this,” he said.
Bin Sulayem posted photos of himself collecting discarded cigarette butts and other garbage in a parking lot outside Carrefour hypermarket and other areas.
“I would like to see the Red Diamond Building management respecting their own rules a little bit more than what I have seen,” he wrote on Instagram. ”I am a bit disappointed,” he added, “hope when I visit again to clean up the area after doing that to a few other clusters here, they would taken (sic) serious note of this by keeping the area cleaner and more importantly – safer – for our community,” he said.
Many people praised Bin Sulayem for his actions, calling him a “role model” for taking the initiative. GAD/Expat Media
