DUBAI – The UAE has banned the import of all live animals from South Africa.
The ban announced on Tuesday (May 29) covers sheep, goats, cattle, buffaloes, camels, gazelles and their non-heat-treated by-products.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment issued the ban following an outbreak of Rift Valley Fever in South Africa’s Letsemeng province.
Only thermally treated products from all parts of South Africa have been cleared for import to the UAE. GAD/Expat Media
